Aubrey O'Day's Journey: Weight Loss, Plastic Surgery, and Finding Her Voice

Aubrey O'Day, known for her time in the girl group Danity Kane, has been in the public eye for years. Her journey has been marked by scrutiny over her appearance, cosmetic enhancements, and her experiences in the music industry. This article explores O'Day's evolving relationship with her body, her views on plastic surgery, and her reflections on her past experiences with industry figures like Diddy.

Navigating Appearance in the Music Industry

O'Day has openly discussed the pressures she faced regarding her looks, particularly during her time in Danity Kane. She told Dr. Terry Dubrow, "It started with being in a girl group. The demands I noticed of my looks." The singer admitted, "This is a hard topic for me," highlighting the emotional weight of these experiences.

Plastic Surgery: Regrets and Reversals

Aubrey O'Day has been candid about her experiences with plastic surgery, including both satisfaction and regret. While she remains a fan of cosmetic procedures, she expressed a specific regret regarding lip fillers. "Well, when you say the word 'sideways,' I immediately think of these f--king lips on the top of my face," she shared. "They're, like, very uneven, they stick out, they're very ducky."

On E!'s "Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind," O'Day underwent a transformative journey, deciding whether to reverse previous plastic surgeries. She said, “I got lip fillers that were like, invading my face. And I thought they really looked good until they took ’em away and I got to see that I was trippin.’ Good God, I’m so happy those lips are off my face. When I see photos with the lip injections, I’m disgusted."

O'Day talked plastic surgery reversal and being happy with the results. She realized that "Some people aren’t haters, some people are really trying to guide you better. And I was looking in the mirror, and I thought it looked good. ‘Cause so many people in L.A. Love!"

Body Image and Self-Acceptance

O'Day has faced criticism regarding her appearance. In an exclusive interview, she recalled, "It was my downfall day. When it came time to laugh at me, everybody was laughing." Despite having faced criticism over her appearance before, she was still hurt by the online response. "My body's been on the chopping block since I was 17. Those were not the first fat photos," she shared. O'Day added, "I'll spend the rest of my life trying to heal with how many inaccurate things have been told about me."

Part of O'Day's healing journey includes making her "Couple Goals" music video, which she said helped her embrace her body. "I felt so good," O'Day said of the filming process, explaining, "It's offering my body up to belong to people again," O'Day said she now has a "different perspective" on the public dialogue about her appearance. "I love the reclaiming of it."

O'Day isn't too concerned about the recent chatter about how she Photoshops herself into vacation photos. "My Instagram looks the way it does not because I'm scared of my body," she said, "it's because when I'm in Bali and I scale a two-hour mountain…I don't have a f--king caboodle kit, a tripod, my wigs and a whole custom line of clothing to put on. Nor am I at all interested in being the bitch that's holding her fucking camera out with a selfie stick taking photos of herself."

Explaining how she prefers to live in the moment, O'Day continued, "I am in Bali. I am here to heal. I am not bringing a camera and desecrating this place as a Photoshop moment for Instagram. She added, "No, it doesn't make me inauthentic."

Aubrey O'Day spent her time living in a tiny bikini. O'Day has been documenting her weight loss journey on Instagram. On Aug. 16, she posted a photo of her rock-hard abs, and wrote "Aubrey's gettin her Groove back!!!!

In the Wednesday, July 16, episode, O’Day goes makeup-free for a challenge to remind herself of her inner beauty. "I love myself without makeup. I love putting on makeup too," she explained. "I think people probably would think I fear [no makeup] more than I do just because I'm such a visual person and promote art that's very, like, made up. But I'm just like any other girl. I like it to come off at the end of the day.”

Relationships and Confidence

Aubrey O’Day won’t forget the way Donald Trump Jr. made her feel during their relationship. “Don Jr. made me feel the most beautiful,” O’Day, 41, exclusively shared. “He made me feel the smartest and the most beautiful, but he loved my mind more than anything else, and that's what I love about me.

While O’Day said Donald Jr. made her feel confident, she explained that plenty of her other exes couldn’t do the same. The singer said ex-boyfriend Pauly D “did not give me any confidence” when they dated on and off from 2016 to 2017 after meeting on E!’s Famously Single.

“[He] definitely brought me down all the time and made sure that I didn't have, like, high self-worth, because I think he feared I wouldn't stay if I did,” she claimed. “That was probably the lowest I had ever felt, and that's why I stayed obedient for so long.” In 2018, the Jersey Shore star, 45, told Page Six that “the way I feel is I dodged a bullet. I’m glad that I was out of that whole situation.”

Regardless of her past, O’Day said she isn’t interested in dating at the moment. Instead, she’s turned her focus on looking and feeling her best on E!’s new series.

Reflections on Diddy and the Music Industry

Aubrey O’Day claimed that former boss Sean “Diddy” Combs tried to control her appearance and was rarely sober while she was a member of Danity Kane. O’Day said she felt she was groomed by Diddy, 54, to conform to his image.

With Diddy, she saw multiple sides of him but she doesn’t know who she was ever talking to that was sober. after she was made a member of the group, Diddy was very particular about how she presented herself.

“He’s on camera telling me how much he hates it, but he’s off camera telling me all the ways I needed to be groomed properly, down to my toenails,” said the singer. “I was sent out of a studio session one time because my toes weren’t polished properly.”

O’Day continued, “Diddy would bring me back to the studio at night and say, ‘Oh, I’ve just got [Danity Kane song] “Show Stopper” … you’re not on the first verse.’ The guy has someone else on the first verse and puts me on the bridge. He’s like, ‘You think that’s acceptable?’ I was like, ‘I don’t know.’ I can’t tell a producer what to do with his own track. He was like, ‘You’re the looker of my band. You think I can start off this music video with this [other] girl?’”

“They make you feel like … you get little bits of things that make you attracted and excited, and then once they've got your attention, they let you know about yourself in different ways,” she said. “It's like the military, they break you down and build you back up into the soldier they need you to be for the country they need you to be fighting for.”

In a September 5 interview on the “Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe” podcast, O’Day reflected on being fired from Danity Kane by Diddy during a live episode of Making the Band 4 in 2008.

“I was so young and so many things were put on me. I was fired on national television for being overly raunchy and promiscuous,” she said. “That’s actually like wrongful termination. That’s a lawsuit against a lot of people.”

O’Day has been an outspoken critic of her former Bad Boy Records boss over the last several months as Diddy has faced accusations of sexual assault and trafficking.

“The purpose of justice is to provide an ending and allow us the space to create a new chapter,” O’Day shared via X after Diddy’s arrest on September 16. The former Danity Kane member continued, “Women never get this. I feel validated. Today is a win for women all over the world, not just for me.
