It tastes like you are sipping on a tropical drink on a Caribbean beach.

This healthy mango pineapple smoothie tastes like a sweet & creamy tropical treat but packs a punch with protein, fiber and whole fruit. I love using mango and pineapple in smoothies, so this recipe is a combination of my mango cilantro green smoothie and my pineapple cucumber smoothie. Just 5 simple ingredients are needed for this delicious tropical smoothie that is great for an easy breakfast or healthy afternoon snack.

Here’s how to make a mango pineapple smoothie! For a blender, I really like to use my Vitamix Ascent high-powered blender or my Magic Bullet for this recipe.

This pineapple mango smoothie calls for five healthy and simple ingredients. You'll need a banana, a fresh or frozen mango, pineapple, milk of your choice, and Greek yogurt.

  • Banana: I used frozen banana and chopped it up, so it blends easily.
  • Mango: You need frozen mango pieces.
  • Yogurt: I used 0% Greek yogurt, but feel free to use 2% or 5%.

Instructions:

  1. Add all of your ingredients (frozen pineapple chunks, mango chunks, banana, lime juice, and milk) to a high-speed blender.
  2. Puree until smooth.
  3. Pour blended smoothie into serving cups and drink right after blending.

For a thinner smoothie, add more milk. Use frozen fruit. Use frozen mango pieces, mango chunks, and a chopped-up frozen banana to help thicken your smoothie naturally without adding a ton of ice.

This recipe is super versatile, so you can swap in almost any other fruit to make endless variations!

  • Sweetness: Add an extra 1/2-1 tablespoon of maple syrup, agave or honey to add more sweetness. You can also toss a medjool date in before blending for additional sweetness.
  • Protein: Make this smoothie more filling by adding a scoop of protein powder before blending.
  • Greens: Add fresh baby spinach or kale leaves (about 1 1/2 cups) to the blender when pureeing for a delicious green smoothie.
  • Fiber & Healthy Fats: Add in 1 tablespoon of chia seeds or ground flaxseed, or ¼ of an avocado.
  • Spice: I love adding ginger to smoothies - it’s warming and it pairs really well with both mango and pineapple.
  • Tropical Vibes: Use canned coconut milk instead of soy or almond milk. It will add just a hint of coconut flavor to the smoothie which is delicious with the mango and pineapple.
