Gazzy Fabio Garcia, known worldwide as Lil Pump, rose to fame in the late 2010s. He became a prominent figure in the SoundCloud rap scene, distinguished by his minimalist music and rambunctious public persona. His track "Gucci Gang" achieved significant commercial success, receiving quintuple platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album it preceded peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. He continued his success with singles like "I Love It" (with Kanye West featuring Adele Givens), "Esskeetit", "Drug Addicts", "Butterfly Doors", "Be Like Me" (featuring Lil Wayne), and "Welcome to the Party" (with Diplo and French Montana featuring Zhavia Ward) for the Deadpool 2 soundtrack. His second album, Harverd Dropout (2019), reached number seven on the Billboard 200. Now, Lil Pump seems to be making headlines for a different reason: his physical transformation and commitment to a healthier lifestyle.
From Miami Roots to Music Sensation
Gazzy Fabio Garcia was born on August 17, 2000, in Miami, Florida. At 13, his cousin Lil Ominous introduced him to Omar Pineiro, known as Smokepurpp, with whom he would later collaborate. Garcia and Pineiro were expelled from multiple district schools. In 2017, Garcia gained attention with the singles "D Rose" and "Boss", achieving 70 million streams on SoundCloud. The popularity of "D Rose" led to a music video produced by Cole Bennett, also known as Lyrical Lemonade. On June 9, 2017, Garcia signed a record deal with Tha Lights Global and Warner Records, before his seventeenth birthday. However, in January 2018, his contract with Warner Bros. was voided.
Career Highlights and Controversies
Lil Pump's career has been marked by both success and controversy. "Gucci Gang" achieved quintuple platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In December 2018, Garcia faced accusations of racism towards Asians after previewing a snippet of his song "Butterfly Doors", which contained Asian stereotypes and slurs. He later apologized and released the single with the offensive lyrics edited out. In February 2019, Garcia released "Be Like Me" featuring Lil Wayne and performed it on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
Despite announcing his retirement from music in February 2020, he quickly returned, previewing a new song and announcing his upcoming album, Lil Pump 2. In March 2021, Garcia partnered with the NFT marketplace Sweet to release a special NFT collection. In March 2023, he announced the cover and tracklist for his album Lil Pump 2, which features guest appearances from Smokepurpp, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and Ty Dolla Sign. The album was released on March 17.
Endorsements and Legal Issues
In October 2020, Garcia endorsed Donald Trump in the 2020 United States presidential election, citing Joe Biden's tax plan. He has continued to support Trump in 2024. In February 2018, Garcia was arrested for discharging a weapon in an inhabited place. In December 2018, he was arrested by Danish police for possessing marijuana and later arrested at a Miami airport for disorderly conduct.

Lil Pump's Fitness Journey
Lil Pump has been hitting the gym and has put down the drugs in exchange for dumbbells, with the progress speaking for itself. This week, the rapper revealed his physique after hitting the gym. Pump lost his lean gut completely and looks healthier these days. “Looking good feeling better working out is my new addiction should I go keep going ?” he captioned the post.
A Shift in Priorities
Lil Pump's physical transformation seems to be part of a bigger initiative to gain back his momentum. Despite claiming that he hasn’t fallen off, he isn’t dominating radio or clubs as he once did. Last year, he dropped a slew of singles that didn’t seem to gain traction including “I’m Back” and the Ty Dolla $ign-assisted, “She Know.”
Many fans began to bring up J. Cole’s “1985” single and how the K.O.D. rapper predicted how Pump’s career would play out. However, Pump claimed that Cole wasn’t correct at all. “He was trying to understand [the] young generation, ’cause at that time people didn’t understand what was going on with the music,” he said. “‘There’s this new wave coming in, we don’t understand it but we’re just gonna roll with it.’ But I f- with J. Cole, I don’t have no problems with him.” “Nope, because I’m still here,” he said when asked if Cole was correct. “I don’t think he predicted s-. I’m still here.”
Kicking the Cup: A Positive Message
Lil Pump has decided to forsake going pee pee on his own money and offending Asian people in favor of an inspirational message: kick that damn cup. Of course, Pump is referring to his decision to quit sipping lean, which he attributes to his recent weight loss. "Look how skinny I got," says a shirtless Pump, via his IG story. True, weight loss is indeed a benefit to quitting lean, among various others. In that sense, Pump is actually spreading a positive message to his followers, who likely took his "my lean cost more then your rent" as an invitation to take up the cup in the first place.
