Jon Gosselin, the former reality star of "Jon & Kate Plus 8," has embarked on a significant weight loss journey, achieving noticeable results through a combination of medication, treatments, and lifestyle changes. This transformation has not only improved his physical health but also boosted his confidence and overall well-being. His daughter, Hannah Gosselin, has also experienced a similar journey, further highlighting the positive impact of their shared commitment to a healthier lifestyle.
Jon Gosselin's Weight Loss Journey
Initial Weight Gain and Contributing Factors
Jon Gosselin, 47, revealed that he had gained around 35 pounds, reaching 200 pounds, prior to his weight loss efforts. Several factors contributed to this weight gain, including his late-night work schedule as a DJ, lack of sleep, and unhealthy eating habits.
"We live in Pennsylvania in a very rural area. We eat at gas stations. You guys don't understand that. Like, we have awesome gas stations," Gosselin explained. "We got Wawa. But there are healthy choices there. It's just, like, three o'clock in the morning. What are you going to eat? You're exhausted. You have another hour to drive. You're nowhere to stop."
Semaglutide and Initial Weight Loss
In April, Jon shared that he had lost more than 30 pounds in two months after starting semaglutide, a medication that aids in weight loss. He told Page Six in April that he already shed 32 pounds in two months. Semaglutide helped suppress his appetite, especially during late-night drives home from his DJ gigs, enabling him to maintain his weight loss.
CellSound Treatments and Visceral Fat Reduction
To further enhance his body transformation, Jon turned to CellSound treatments. This non-invasive treatment uses low-energy ultrasound to improve blood flow beneath the skin and enhance lymphatic drainage, which in turn improves collagen formation.

Dr. Nicholas Nikolov, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, explained that CellSound treatments are effective because they don't cause inflammation or injury. Instead, they encourage fat cells to release lipids into the bloodstream, which are then used up by the body.
Jon reported a significant reduction in visceral fat, stating, "I think I lost 37% visceral fat in my abdomen, which is huge, and with my lifestyle change and my eating habits, my triglycerides, my HDL and my cholesterol is the best it’s ever been, probably in 30 years."
Maintaining Weight Loss and Lifestyle Changes
After running out of semaglutide, Jon focused on maintaining his weight loss through consistent exercise and a high-protein diet. He shared that he works out at the beach and feels confident enough to go shirtless, showcasing his "abs."
"I ran out of semaglutide about seven weeks ago,” Gosselin told Fox News Digital. “I couldn’t inject, I couldn’t do anything. So I was just hitting the gym real hard." He noted how his lifestyle as a deejay contributed to unique eating habits. when I’m driving home, and with the semaglutide, it helped suppress that appetite. I was maintaining my weight loss.
Jon and Hannah are now working on “weaning ourselves off of” the semaglutide and continuing to live an active lifestyle that centers around working out and eating high-protein meals.

Emotional and Psychological Impact
Jon emphasized the positive emotional and psychological effects of his weight loss journey. He expressed regret for not starting sooner, stating, "You know what's annoying? The regret of not starting it 10 years ago. I feel amazing! Like, why didn't I do this sooner?"
He also mentioned that past emotional challenges, including divorce proceedings and custody battles with his ex-wife Kate, had made it difficult to focus on his health. Now, he feels he finally has the time to prioritize himself.
Future Plans and Relationships
Jon's weight loss journey has also influenced his personal life. He expressed a desire to be in better shape before proposing to his girlfriend, Stephanie Lebo, indicating that his improved health has boosted his confidence in his relationship.
"I love Stephanie and I have future plans with her, but I want to be… maybe in the best shape of my life," he said.

Hannah Gosselin, Jon's daughter, has also experienced a significant weight loss transformation. She revealed that she lost 25 pounds with semaglutide, which has greatly improved her confidence.

The 20-year-old continued, "You probably would not have caught me in a swimsuit last summer. I don't even think I went to the beach. I have been spending my whole summer at the pool, at the beach, out with my friends."
Hannah shared pictures of herself wearing a bikini top and linen pants on a shore in June on her Instagram. "It really is a confidence booster," she told ET, "to know that you look in the mirror and you're happy with the way that you look."
Shared Commitment to a Healthy Lifestyle
Both Jon and Hannah are committed to maintaining their weight loss through an active lifestyle and healthy eating habits. They are working on weaning themselves off semaglutide and focusing on long-term wellness.
