"My entire breakfast would be maybe two [small] oatmeal cookies made with brown rice and 10 cups of coffee because I wanted to keep my body fat down to 2.8 percent," Stallone told The Wall Street Journal.
However, this extreme approach took a toll on his health. "I was forgetting my phone number. I was eating just tuna fish. My memory was shot, it was completely gone," he added. "I was getting all kinds of debilitating physical effects. But it was for the cause."
A Shift Towards Lower Impact Workouts
In recent years, Sylvester Stallone has transitioned to lower impact workouts, focusing on maintaining joint mobility and overall fitness.
"I’ve gone from lifting regular weights to mostly bands, cables. It’s kind of like physical therapy," he told the outlet. "So, you’re using the bar, you’re using different motions and keeping those joints moving all the time."

This shift is partly due to the physical toll of his career, which has included "five back operations, two shoulders, three neck fusions, both knees," as he revealed, before adding, "I’m bionic." Stallone has also reduced his coffee consumption.

Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin, along with their three daughters, star in the reality show "The Family Stallone." The show, which premiered on May 17, offers a glimpse into their family life. The show debuted just months after Flavin filed for divorce in August 2022, accusing Stallone of "intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets, which has had an adverse economic impact on the marital estate."
