Heather Altman's Fitness and Wellness Journey: A Deep Dive

Josh and Heather Altman, the dynamic duo from Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, have consistently showcased not only their real estate prowess but also their dedication to health, fitness, and maintaining a strong work-life balance. Their journey offers insights into the demanding lifestyle of real estate professionals and the strategies they employ to stay at the top of their game.

Intense Workouts and Partnership

The couple who sweats together, stays together. Josh and Heather Altman proved this adage true by sharing glimpses into their intense workout routine at Unbreakable Performance, a West Hollywood fitness center favored by celebrities. Josh posted videos of them working up a sweat, with Heather riding an air bike and Josh running on a curved treadmill, followed by side-by-side lunges and back-pulls.

Josh captioned the post, "Working out with my personal CEO [Heather Altman]. Lucky to have a partner who pushes me, cheers me on, keeps me on my toes, and lays down the law. Don’t remember reading that chapter in all those success books but that should be chapter 1. LFG.” This highlights the importance of having a supportive partner who motivates and encourages one's fitness goals. Heather Dubrow from The Real Housewives of Orange County applauded the couple’s workout, showcasing the support they receive from their peers.

The Cold Plunge Ritual

Josh Altman's commitment to health extends beyond traditional workouts. He incorporates a cold plunge into his daily routine. Every morning, he submerges himself in 52-degree water, a practice he believes sets him up for success.

“Every morning, 52 degrees,” he said after stepping into the outdoor tub. “The only way to start. People ask how I do it year after year. This is it. Cold plunge. Every morning. If I don’t take one, I’m not up. Hit the gym, hit the cold plunge.” He credits this practice for preparing him to "close deals and be on the go all day." This unconventional approach underscores his dedication to maintaining peak performance through rigorous physical and mental conditioning.

Josh Altman's Weight Loss and Diet

Josh Altman's commitment to fitness has also included dietary changes. In a 2020 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, he revealed that he had lost 12 pounds. He attributed this weight loss to a strict plant-based diet.

“I did, I lost 12 pounds,” he said. “I’m on a plant-based diet, very strict. And so maybe my teeth look bigger, but they’re still real.” This demonstrates his willingness to adopt significant lifestyle changes to achieve his health and fitness goals.

Heather Altman's Perspective on Work-Life Balance

Heather Altman, CEO of The Altman Brothers, has openly discussed the challenges of maintaining a work-life balance. In a May interview with BravoTV.com, she explained that there is "no true formula for a perfectly balanced" life.

"It just depends on where you’re at professionally with your career and what you have coming on with your family, and you just prioritize what really makes sense… The kids, everything kind of falls around that now. Nothing’s ever perfect, [but] as long as my kids are happy and I’m getting quality time with them, everything else is secondary and we figure it out." This perspective highlights the importance of prioritizing family and adapting to the ever-changing demands of a high-powered career.

Navigating the Real Estate Market

The Altmans, along with their colleagues like Tracy Tutor and Josh Flagg, navigate the complexities of the Los Angeles real estate market. Tutor noted the challenges posed by rising interest rates in late 2022, which significantly impacted affordability.

"It's been tough since the rise of interest rates in late 2022. I don't think it really started to set in because the flip side was when interest rates were at 2.5 percent or even less, the prices of properties were obviously higher. So, all the buyers were like, 'Well, I'm going to wait and wait for a minute and wait for interest rates to sort of fluctuate.' Then, the prices come down, and what they didn't realize is how quickly they were going to go from two points a half percent to seven points a half percent," Tutor explains.

"That all of a sudden made affordability next to impossible," the blonde beauty adds. "It's an incredibly confusing market, and I've had to figure out how to pivot."

The agents have had to adapt and find creative solutions to broker deals in a struggling economic environment. This requires resilience, adaptability, and a deep understanding of market dynamics.

Tracy Tutor's Personal Journey

Tracy Tutor, another prominent figure on Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, has shared her personal struggles on the show. She joined the show while going through a divorce and has been open about the challenges of balancing her personal life with her career.

"When I first came onto this show, I was married for almost 14 years. It was my first season, and it was terrifying because I was going through something very private," she says. "I wasn't prepared to go through a divorce on camera. I had young kids to protect. It was very different," the mother-of-two adds. "I think many of the fans were a little blindsided by that and villainized me in many ways because they didn't really know me yet."

She emphasizes the importance of vulnerability and trust with the audience, particularly for women in business. "There's a little bit more of a trust and vulnerability with me on camera that you're going to obviously see this season that I feel like is important to let the fans, particularly for the women of this show, see that," she continues. "I'm really tough in business and I'm successful, but I'm also a mom and a friend and an ex-wife."

The Future of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles

In late 2024, Josh and Heather Altman chose to leave the show after season 15 finished airing. The future of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles was uncertain, with production on Season 16 being placed on hold.

“This wasn’t an overnight discussion where we just decided the night before, ‘Hey, let’s do this,…

The Altmans' departure marked a significant change for the franchise.
