The Candi Frazier Diet Plan: A Primal Approach to Weight Loss and Holistic Wellness

In a world saturated with fad diets and fleeting fitness trends, Candi Frazier emerges as a beacon of ancestral wisdom and natural solutions. As a Board-Certified Functional Nutritionist and Medical Professional Nutrition Educator, Candi has dedicated over a decade to helping individuals, particularly women, achieve sustainable weight loss and improved health through her unique approach, Primal Bod.

The Primal Bod Philosophy: A Return to Our Roots

Candi Frazier's Primal Bod program isn't just another diet; it's a comprehensive process designed to reconnect individuals with their primal instincts and ancestral wisdom. It's a return to primal living. She envisions a world where intuition, instincts, and ancestral wisdom serve as the beacons of truth as we navigate through the unending information of our modern world. This philosophy is rooted in the belief that true transformation happens when intuition leads, guiding us back to our roots and primal living. It's not just the diet, or the lifestyle, but a mastery of our environment.

The Problem with Modern Diets and the Rise of Insulin Resistance

Candi's journey into functional nutrition was significantly influenced by her husband's experience with Type 1 diabetes. Through this experience, she realized the critical role of insulin in fat storage and overall metabolic health.

According to Candi, many modern diets fail because they don't address the underlying issue of insulin resistance. In an explosive interview, Dr. Robert Kiltz and metabolic scientist Dr. Ben Bikman dismantle mainstream dietary advice-from the myth of “healthy carbs” to the dangers of fruit, cereal, and even modern medicine’s blind spots. Discover why insulin resistance is the root of most chronic diseases, how ketogenic and carnivore diets outperform conventional approaches, and why academia may be printing “monopoly money” when it comes to health research. They point out that conventional dietary advice often promotes the consumption of processed foods and excessive carbohydrates, leading to chronically elevated insulin levels. This, in turn, can lead to insulin resistance, a condition where the body's cells become less responsive to insulin, requiring the pancreas to produce even more of the hormone to maintain blood sugar levels.

Dr. Bikman emphasizes that insulin resistance is at the root of most chronic diseases.

The Three-Step Primal Bod System: Igniting Your Metabolic Fire

The Primal Bod System is a structured, three-step process designed to transform your body in 6 weeks or less. It's like a college course because you're learning so much about your body, the anatomy, physiology, the blood sugar, you'll understand it all by the time you're done with the program, you will understand how it all works, how insulin works, how your glycogen stores work, how to get into ketosis and stay there safely because you can wreck your metabolism going too high on ketones and getting into too deep of levels of ketosis because it mimics famine in nature and any time you're in famine in nature, your body is going to shut down.

Step 1: Lipolysis - Igniting Your Metabolic Fire

The first step involves igniting your metabolic fire through lipolysis, the breakdown of fats and other lipids by hydrolysis to release fatty acids.

Step 2: Training Your Body to Consume Its Own Fat for Fuel

This step focuses on training your body to efficiently use its own fat stores as a primary fuel source. This is achieved through dietary adjustments and lifestyle modifications that promote fat adaptation.

Step 3: Sustainable Habits and a Deeper Connection to Nature

The final step emphasizes the development of sustainable habits and a deeper connection to nature. This involves personalized coaching and the creation of a supportive community.

The Importance of Protein and Animal Fats

Candi advocates for a diet rich in protein and animal fats, emphasizing their crucial role in overall health and well-being. She believes that meat is your proper human food. Meat and animal fat are what is going to grow your baby strong. Give it a strong immune system. Make your breast milk like perfect so that you grow that baby's brain and that you're healthy through the entire process of that because that's nature wants you to procreate and bring in healthy children to go on and further that population.

She often shares about how her diabetic husband's journey helped her figure out what our bodies need in order to maintain a healthy balance. "I finally put the pieces together and realized that that's our true fuel source. Protein and fat are our fuel sources. Our body does a process called gluconeogenesis that breaks protein into glucose. So we don't really need to eat any glucose. We just need to eat meat.

Addressing Women's Health Issues: PCOS and Hormonal Imbalance

Candi also addresses common women's health issues such as PCOS, endometriosis, and hormonal imbalances. She discusses how PCOS is insulin related. Endometriosis, polycystic ovaries, polyps, cysts, fibroids, all of that stuff is connected back to a high insulin environment. It's too much sugar in the blood for too long. The body has to produce the insulin, and it's irritating to the body. All that hormonal dysfunction is linked to metabolic dysfunction.

The Primal Bod Difference: Education, Coaching, and Community

The Primal Bod difference lies in a commitment to restoring generational knowledge through ancestral wisdom and natural solutions. Candi's approach combines comprehensive education on body mechanics, personalized coaching, and the creation of a supportive community. This ensures clients not only achieve significant weight loss and improved health but also develop sustainable habits and a deeper connection to nature. By embracing this holistic model, clients experience transformation that is both empowering and enduring.

Supplements: A Natural Approach

"I'm not a big supplement person. I don't really like the supplements, fish oil, or eat a can of sardines every day. You should be getting fish oil for the DHA for the baby's brain. Folate is really important, but you can get that in egg yolk and liver. We didn't have prenatal vitamins at our fingertips out in the wild for thousands of years. Prenatal vitamins are a new thing, right? The reason we have them is because our diet is so poor. If you choose a prenatal, choose wisely. Choose a whole foods prenatal vitamin from a practitioner or grade supplement company. Don't just go out there and wing it. Do not go on Centrum from Walgreens. That is horribly toxic for you and your baby. Candi recommends taking a really good grass fed beef liver supplement, or get your own beef liver or chicken liver and cook it up and eat it yourself. Eat a little bit every day to get your folate in. You don't need to get it from foliage like they tell you. You need it from the organ meats from liver and egg yolks.
