Diet Details

Alessandra knows that eating protein for breakfast is a great way to stay fuller for longer. She prefers to workout before lunch and she usually grabs a green juice straight after her work out. For lunch, she usually has a salad with chicken or fish. For dinner, if she’s going out with her friends her favourite meal is sushi. But if she’s staying at home, she usually makes a family dinner. When she’s on-the-go, her favourite snacks include chia seed energy bars, almonds and fruit.

When she was younger, she actually didn’t have the best diet. But with time, she realized that she’s not doing her body any good that way. So Alessandra started to pay more attention to what her body was telling her. Whenever she felt like she was overindulging, she would remind herself how she felt the last time she did it. “I don’t cut out any food groups. I’m all about moderation…So if I want a little bit of dark chocolate on a plane or a cocktail with friends on the weekend, I’ll have it. If you want something that is not considered healthy, have it. Don’t restrict yourself! There are going to be times when you eat worse than normal and fall off track a little bit. But that’s normal! We’re all just humans. She would always stick to her high-protein breakfast - eggs and/or avocado toast. And for lunch, she would grab a salad - quick and easy. “In my family, no one ever worked out.

Workout Preferences

Alessandra is not the biggest fan of running. When she still worked as VS angel, she used to train with Tracy Anderson. She liked doing these workouts because they felt more like a dance class than a workout. In an interview she did in 2017, she said that she tries to go to a Tracy Anderson workout class every day of the week. If you like lighter resistance training and bodyweight exercises, you will probably like my VS workouts! Now Alessandra also does lots of Pilates and yoga.

When she just started getting into fitness, Alessandra didn’t really enjoy it. “What changed my attitude to fitness was finding all these classes that I really enjoyed doing. I do one called Pilates Platinum in L.A. Working out doesn’t have to feel like a chore. If don’t feel like running, try some other types of cardio like walking, boxing or swimming. If you don’t like weights, you don’t have to do them! There are some many different options.

A Look into a Day

Alessandra Ambrosio is fan of big breakfasts, plenty of coffee, Pilates, and Japanese food. "I wake up, brush my teeth and then kiss my fiance and two kids good morning before heading down to my kitchen for some time to myself before everyone wakes up. "I drop my daughter, Anja, off at school and my son, Noah, off at his playgroup. "Off to Pilates class, where I meet a friend and get in some girl time. "I stop into a cafe after class and pick up a cup of coffee, then head home to shower and get dressed for the day. "I pick Noah up at his playgroup, and then we take a trip to Planet Blue to check on Ale by Alessandra (and maybe sneak in a little shopping for myself). "Noah and I go to his music class. I love watching him explore and interact with the other kids. "I pick Anja up from school and then take her and Noah for an after-school treat at Pinkberry followed by some playtime at the park. "I get the kids showered and cleaned up before preparing dinner for them. Tonight I'm making a chicken and veggie stir-fry with brown rice. "We have dinner at Katsuya in L.A. Strength Training

Alessandra Ambrosio says her personal trainer mainly has her do squats and lunges to shape the ideal Brazilian butt. The type of strength training she further uses mainly involves exercises with resistance bands, and she trains with free weights.

Cardio Training

With cardio, Alessandra burns excess fat, which she mainly accumulated after giving birth.

Abs Workout

Instead of doing thousands of crunches, Alessandra prefers capoeira and uses resistance bands to train specific parts of her abs.

Diet Adherence

Alessandra adheres to a strict diet to keep her body slim and fat-free. Steamed vegetables, chicken, and fish are often on the menu, along with yogurt and fruit for breakfast.

Morning Routine

Off the top of the clip, Ambrosio dishes about having just finished up doing her nails and then enjoying a light, high protein breakfast in the morning. The 5ft9.5in beauty eats low protein meal which typically involves eggs and avocado for breakfast in the morning, which on occasion also includes a few slices of bacon.

From there, she heads off to the gym where she will get in lots of cardio, such as running on the treadmill or heading outside for a run. While at the gym she also works on shaping her body by doing lots of abdominal crunches, as well as plenty of sit-ups and leg lifts.

While at times using a personal trainer, Ambrosio likes to use the cable devices at the gym when focusing on her shoulder and chest regions. After her workout Ambrosio 'loves to make a protein smoothie low in sugar' and full of vegetables and fruits. For dinner she incorporates more lean proteins and vegetables like salmon and asparagus.

2024: Hitting the Ground Running

Alessandra Ambrosio started 2024 off by hitting the ground running-or more specifically, hitting the treadmill running. The former Victoria’s Secret model shared a video of herself wearing a gray two-piece workout outfit, going through an entire routine including running, kettlebells, resistance bands, and stair climbing.

Perfect Day

Ambrosio’s perfect day is one spent in nature with her family. “I love being woken up by the sound of the ocean, so anywhere near the sea, especially if my kids are around,” she tells Hello!. “We recently went to Fernando de Noronha. It was magical - there are beautiful ocean views all around you. I’d eat a traditional Brazilian breakfast, fruit, avocado, eggs, fresh juices and coffee. I would change into something comfortable, probably Alo Yoga activewear. Ambrosio’s favorite foods are grilled picanha and sushi, which she enjoys outdoors.

Wellness Routine

Ambrosio’s wellness routine is focused around gratitude. “It’s not easy, but I have my tricks,” she tells Forbes. “I like waking up in the morning, doing my coffee, and then I have my diary next to my bed. It’s a 5-minute diary - like a gratitude book. I just write a little bit about what I expect out of my day, what I’m grateful for, so just to start the day in a positive vibe.

Ambrosio’s workout includes resistance training and Pilates for a fantastic all-body exercise. She’s also a devotee of the Tracy Anderson method. “I have been working with Tracy [Anderson] for last couple years, and what I love about her classes that it does not feel like exercise,” Ambrosio told Bravo.
