Ingredient Analysis: Do They Really Work?
GLP-X Ingredients: A Closer Look
GLP-X is marketed as an alternative to GLP-1 agonist medications for weight loss and ‘GLP-1 support.’ GLP-X contains herbs and chromium and proprietary blends. This proprietary blend contains Eriomin and berberine.
Eriomin
Eriomin is a patented citrus bioflavonoid nutraceutical supplement. There are two studies about this citrus extract and blood glucose. The 12-week 2022 study featuring Eriomin found a 17% rise in GLP-1 with 200 mg a day of the ingredient. In the above studies, we see that GLP-1 levels were indeed higher after supplementation with Eriomin.
Berberine
As far as Berberine, we do know that it has positive effects for increasing GLP-1 and for decreasing blood glucose in people with diabetes.
Water Balance Blend
GLP-X also contains a proprietary ‘water balance blend,’ otherwise known as a diuretic.
Concerning Proprietary Blends
A word about proprietary blends: I recommend not purchasing products that contain proprietary blends. These are basically smokescreens that companies can hide behind so they don’t have to reveal the exact amounts of ingredients that are in their products. It could be a little, it could be a lot. It could be the effective dose (assuming any of the ingredients are effective at all), it could be less. For GLP-X, for example, we have no idea how much Berberine or Eriomin is in each capsule.

Xyngular Complete Prebiotic
Overall, we consider Xyngular Complete Prebiotic to be potentially effective for weight loss given that it contains fiber. A medical review published in The Journal of Nutrition found that fiber intake “promotes weight loss” and that individuals with higher fiber intake experienced greater weight loss.
Xyngular Complete Collagen
Collagen is included at a per-serving dose of 10 g. Overall, we consider Xyngular Complete Collagen likely to improve skin quality and joint health due to the effective collagen dose.
GLP-1: Understanding the Science
GLP-1, or glucagon-like peptide-1, is a peptide hormone that’s produced in the intestine. GLP-1 also slows down gastrointestinal motility, which makes us feel fuller for longer. We all have GLP-1 receptors in our body.
There are certain foods that are known to increase levels of GLP-1 in our bodies. In particular, mono and polyunsaturated fats, proteins, and fermentable fibre (fermentation in the gut to short-chain fatty acids increases GLP-1 levels) from grains, legumes, and some fruits like apples and green bananas.
MLM Concerns and Ethical Considerations

Income Claims and Transparency
The Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council (“DSSRC”) is a national advertising self-regulation program administered by BBB National Programs. This matter was commenced by DSSRC pursuant to its ongoing independent monitoring of advertising and marketing claims in the direct selling industry.
The company addressed the inquiry from DSSRC. Rather than attempting to substantiate the social media posts, the company took immediate action by contacting the salesforce members responsible for the posts and requesting their removal. Xyngular successfully removed all of the social media posts in question.
With respect to incentive claims, including travel rewards, a direct selling company and/or its salesforce members should clearly and conspicuously disclose the context related to the award or earnings to ensure that the net impression is truthful and not misleading. In the spirit of voluntary self-regulation, Xyngular made further modifications to the webpage by relocating the disclosure directly below the relevant claim. “Xyngular is committed to promoting the business opportunity truthfully and with transparency. We will continue to identify and act on opportunities to provide further compliance trainings and tools to our sales force.
According to the FTC’s revised 2024 Business Guidance Concerning Multi-Level Marketers (MLM), MLMs and their participants should not suggest that a trip or car will be offered for “free” if the person will have to pay for the item. The word “free” suggests that the person will pay nothing.
Testimonials and Fake Reviews
There are plenty of GLP-X testimonials, but these are easily faked, and guess what? MLM coaches love to post them, but conveniently forget to post the not-so-glowing reviews, too.
Red Flags and Misleading Marketing Tactics
The Appeal to Nature Fallacy
The promoting of Big Pharma conspiracy theories while spouting the Appeal to Nature fallacy (natural is better! OMG SYNTHETIC MEDICATION!) is a classic sales tactic that’s sadly becoming more common, especially among multi-level marketing salespeople.
Clinical Trial Claims
The fact that Xyngular and its salespeople can say that the ingredients in this product are ‘clinically studied to increase GLP-1’ makes most people think that 1. GLP-X itself has positive studies behind it (it doesn’t) and 2.
Alternatives and Recommendations
My recommendations here are the same as always: lots of fibre, adequate protein, healthy fats.
