Before I began my weight-loss journey, I was not in a very good place. I was struggling with the death of my best friend, and I entered a deep depression that I tried to hide from those around me. Food become my comfort during that time.
Initially, she focused on basic portion control, gradually cutting out fast food and incorporating fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean meats. She uses portion control containers and the MyFitnessPal app to manage her calorie intake.
I am a huge believer in portion control, and I use portion control containers that I got from the fitness platform Beachbody to help me know exactly how much food I am eating. I also use the MyFitnessPal app to count calories.
Her current daily diet includes:
- Breakfast: Protein shake with frozen bananas, protein powder, and sugar-free cappuccino mix.
- Lunch: Another protein shake in a different flavor.
- Snacks: Fruit, yogurt and granola, or dried fruit.
- Dinner: Grilled chicken salad, grilled chicken with rice and green beans, or a turkey/pork burger.
- Dessert: Dairy-free Halo Top ice cream.
She started working out with Zumba and Shaun T's Hip Hop Abs videos and later transitioned to Beachbody programs. She also incorporated weight training at a local gym.
