Red Mountain Weight Loss is a chain of medical weight loss centers located across Texas and Arizona. They offer various programs tailored to individual needs, integrating weight loss medications when appropriate to provide additional support. This article provides an overview of Red Mountain Weight Loss, including its programs, costs, and what to expect.
Overview of Red Mountain Weight Loss
Red Mountain Weight Loss operates 15 medical weight loss centers across Texas and Arizona, with plans to expand. Unlike programs that require purchasing specific packaged foods, Red Mountain allows you to eat normally. According to Suzanne Bentz, D.O., founder and chief medical officer of Red Mountain Weight Loss, it is similar to hiring a health coach, fitness trainer, or nutritionist.
Program Components and Customization
Red Mountain Weight Loss believes successful weight loss involves finding the right combination of tools. Their programs are individualized, recognizing that everyone gains and loses weight differently. The best weight loss programs are tailored to individual needs and goals and should be overseen by a licensed medical provider.
Initial Consultation
As a new patient, you will meet one-on-one with a licensed medical provider during the initial patient consultation. They will review your weight loss goals, health history, and lifestyle to find the best weight loss program for your goals. At the end of the consultation, they will prescribe an individualized medical weight loss program that is right for you. There is no obligation to pay for the program after the initial consultation. If you decide to begin one of our programs, the new patient consultation fee will be applied to your program.
Personalized Plans
Everyone starts with a medical exam. According to Dr. Bentz, all patients are overweight, but the reasons for it are very diverse. They take a full history and dive in to figure out what the patient’s problems are. They consider why they are overweight, their lifestyle, and what things are difficult for them to determine how to help them. A personalized plan is then created.

Red Mountain Lifestyle Program
The Red Mountain Lifestyle program includes a diet plan based on a patient’s nutritional and caloric needs, lifestyle, and activity levels. It provides macronutrient guidelines to follow.
RM3 Program
The RM3 program is more intense, consisting of a customized diet plan, a patented medication, weekly shots, and supplements. Dr. Bentz does not disclose the ingredients in their proprietary products but states that they use vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and things that support your own body’s metabolism and energy levels and help to inhibit cravings and appetite. RM3® is made exclusively for Red Mountain.
Medications and Supplements
Red Mountain Weight Loss integrates weight loss medications when appropriate to give you additional support. Their medications are made with proprietary blended ingredients to accelerate weight loss and reduce the side effects commonly found with other medications. They provide the highest potency and purity of vitamins to ensure maximum absorption and efficacy. Prescription medications feature a custom blend of ingredients.
Cost of Red Mountain Weight Loss Programs
Our weight loss programs range from $199 to $599, depending on the plan you choose (if you don’t start a program, the initial consultation with a licensed medical provider costs $55). Depending on which program you choose, the one-time program cost ranges from $199 to $599 and will include your first four weeks in the Weight Loss Window along with the transition to Lifetime Maintenance. Plans range from $200 to $500 per month. However, you may be able to use your Health Savings Account to pay for it if you’re losing weight because of a medical condition diagnosed by a doctor.
Payment and Refund Policies
All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges. No cash value and non-transferable. Not valid with any other offers, discounts, special promotions, or where prohibited by law. Other restrictions may apply.

Expected Weight Loss
It depends on your plan, your age, your metabolism, and how much extra weight you have, but Dr. Bentz says patients can drop an average of 10 or 20 pounds per month. Because they are a medical weight loss program, they are for the people that are really struggling and may have a genetic predisposition to obesity, be taking multiple medications, or have other factors such as diabetes, high cholesterol, or metabolic syndrome.
Food and Diet
Unlike some weight-loss programs that require you to purchase specific packaged foods, Red Mountain lets you eat normally. Their programs all consist of real foods that patients are buying from the grocery store because we want to make sure that they know how to eat for life. For instance, they share over 300 plan-friendly recipes with clients and teach them what to order at restaurants so they don’t have to avoid gatherings with family and friends.
Importance of Medical Oversight
Your best chance to effectively and rapidly achieve your weight loss goals is to be under the care of a doctor who has completed training and Board Certification in Obesity Medicine. The program should be overseen by a licensed medical provider who can help the patient through this process. Specialized in Obesity Medicine we can look at your lifestyle, habits, metabolism, hormones, chronic conditions, and any other issues that may be causing weight gain or the inability to lose weight.
Considerations and Caveats
Medication efficacy varies by individual, and all treatments carry potential risks and benefits. Your provider will determine if these treatments are appropriate for your specific health needs. Results vary based on the program, the patient’s health history, and current lifestyle. Everyone gains and loses weight differently.
