I didn’t want to be a hypocrite. “My life had been like a tale of two cities. I was running the marketing department for one of the largest companies in America. I had the pleasure of saying that professionally I was doing exactly what I wanted to do. So it was hard for me to come to grips with the fact that I had failed so miserably with my health and weight.

Since then, she has discovered a love for hiking. She recently attended a reggae concert and stood the entire time. She and her fiancée are planning a trip to Chicago. “I can go places now. I feel normal,” she says.
