A Personal Anecdote
One user shared their experience of initially gaining weight on the Omada program despite engaging with the lessons, coach, and peer group. Professional Health Coach Role
The most impactful aspect of being a health coach is having the ability to empower individuals to make positive and sustainable changes in their health. The most impactful aspect of their role at Omada is seeing our members achieve their health goals and improve their overall well-being. By providing personalized support, evidence based strategies, and consistent encouragement, our members feel empowered to make sustainable lifestyle changes. Getting to know our members on a deeper level, taking the journey with them, and witnessing their progress and the positive, lasting impact on their health and quality of life is incredibly rewarding and fuels their passion for this work. Being a Specialist means helping fill in the cracks for members between their doctor's visits. Too many times we leave an appointment and forget what we were told, or forget to even ask the question! That is were they can pick up and help out. They can give explanations, resources, and insight to help members to improve their health. They may be able to see something they do not notice too! They love being a Health Coach for Omada, and impacting peoples lives every day in a positive way! They often have members who come to the program saying that nothing has worked for them in the past. Once they can determine what their obstacles have been, they can then work together to find an approach that works better for them. They find that they often have done a program that has a specific diet or exercise program that they had to follow. They may have had early success, but it usually is not sustainable. Why? Because they did not choose the behaviors that they are ready to work on.
