The active ingredient in Ozempic is semaglutide, which aids weight loss. The FDA approved semaglutide for weight loss in 2021 and it’s being sold under the brand name Wegovy. It leaves your stomach full for longer and reduces appetite. However, Ozempic hasn’t been approved by the FDA for weight loss and is a prescription-only drug.
A Fitness Journey Marked by Consistency
La La has been open in the past about her fitness journey and shared with ESSENCE that when she’s committed, she is a fitness fanatic. Like many people though, the pandemic flipped things upside down, including her regimen. She admitted in 2021, “There were times where I was like, ‘I’m not going to let this get to me. I’m going to be focused. I’m going to eat right. I’m going to work out,’” she said in 2021. “Then I had moments where I was like, ‘I don’t even care anymore. She added, “I’m definitely an all or nothing kind of person. When I go hard it’s crazy. I’m eating so strict and working out like a maniac. Then when I’m done I’m just done. ‘I said I was going to do that for a month. With 10 months of work put in, Anthony is definitely consistent now and the results speak for themselves. She emphasizes that there's no "magic pill" and that achieving results requires dedication to both exercise and diet.

Anyone who knows La La, knows that she doesn’t half-a-s anything, which is why she takes her high tensity workouts to NYC-based training facility, The Dogpound; also the workout destination for some of Victoria’s Secret’s hottest models, including Adriana Lima, 36. And, La La’s got the VIP in. La La tells us, “The Dogpound is actually close to my house; the owner [CEO and Founder, Kirk Myers] and I are very close friends."
Varied Exercise Routine
La La Anthony enjoys a variety of workouts, combining high-intensity with strength-building exercises. Spinning is definitely my thing. I love boxing, too. Too much of one thing can get boring, so I try to do a couple different types of exercise. I’m trying to do more Pilates and yoga. It hasn’t totally grabbed me yet since it’s a little slow for my personality. She incorporates spinning, boxing, Pilates, and yoga into her routine to prevent boredom and target different muscle groups. She told EatingWell, “As far as workouts are concerned, I love cardio and getting on the bike."

“With looking right, it’s mostly about your eating,” she admits. “And, I feel like a lot of us struggle with that. I’m trying to stay consistent in making better choices when it comes to food. I can’t say I’m always great at it, but I try to keep that in mind. You can’t work your a-s off in the gym and then just throw it all away by eating horrible.” Ultimately, La La says she’s just trying to “find the balance” with hustling in the gym, and fueling her body the right way.
A Glimpse into Her Daily Food Diary
La La stays hydrated throughout the entire day, which is also part of her beauty routine. In the morning, she starts her day with a protein shake. Then, for lunch, La La will have a piece of fish or chicken with vegetables. And, the same goes for dinner. Throughout the day, if she’s hungry and needs a snack, La La will reach for a protein bar of any kind. And, like she said, it’s all about the balance, which she’s still perfecting.
Prioritizing Protein and Limiting Carbs
When I can, I try to stay away from carbs, and I know that's not something you should do all the time, but it works for me to try to really minimize my carbs. I don't eat pork - it's just not what I do. She eats oatmeal and Greek yogurt for breakfast, a lavash turkey wrap with hummus instead of mayo for lunch, and grilled fish or chicken with quinoa for dinner.
The 80/20 Rule: Diet vs. Exercise
The food is 80 percent, workout is like 20 percent. So I've really just gotten more focused on being consistent with both.
Meal Preparation and Healthy Snacking
Anthony sticks to a healthy diet by bringing her own food to set. “Whether it’s meal prepping or having snacks that I need ready, it’s always about preparation,” she told EatingWell. “It’s better for me on set and in my day-to-day life. Whenever I leave things up to whatever will happen, that’s when it doesn’t work for me. But also, you want to live, have fun and enjoy great food, too.

For me, when it comes to beauty products, like, I've never been one that's into the super expensive stuff. I go to Duane Reade and can get everything I need. Neutrogena makeup wipes I can't live without, and even like Olay for my face lotion sometimes. Everything is Duane Reade. I don’t have to go to Neiman Marcus or these other stores. I feel like I find all the best stuff in places like that.
