Kimberlin Brown, known for her role as Sheila Carter on The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B), has recently garnered attention not only for her character's dramatic storylines but also for her impressive physical transformation. This article delves into Kimberlin Brown’s weight loss story, exploring her motivations, methods, and the impact it has had on her life and career.
The Spark: A Wake-Up Call
Kimberlin's journey began after an accident that left her bedridden for six months, leading to significant weight gain. A comment from her husband, comparing her to other actresses' ages, served as a wake-up call. This prompted her to take control of her health and well-being.
Energized Health: The 88-Day Program
Brown credits her transformation to an "88-day program called Energized Health." While she didn't initially embark on the program to lose weight, she was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Her primary goal was to feel and look 10 years younger. According to Brown, "We don’t just age on the outside, we age on the inside as well."

Beyond Weight Loss: A Holistic Transformation
The benefits of the Energized Health program extended beyond weight loss. Kimberlin experienced an energy boost, improved mental clarity, and radiant skin. This newfound passion for healthy living has been embraced by her husband as well, who decided to embark on the journey with her.
Diet and Lifestyle Changes
While the exact details of the Energized Health program weren't specified, Kimberlin shared some general principles she follows for maintaining a healthy lifestyle:
- Cutting Carbs: "To lose weight, you have to cut your carbs. You really need to cut out the white flour and the sugar." She mentioned adopting a Keto/Atkins approach, which involves removing sugar and flour from her diet.
- Streamlining the Kitchen: "Go though your refrigerator, go though your pantry, go through your cabinets and streamline. Get rid of everything that is not healthy. Everything that says fat-free, throw it out."
- Prioritizing Health: "Even with a family and a job and other things going on, if I don’t feel physically strong or in shape, then I don’t want to do anything - so that actually comes first sometimes. I’ve got to make sure I feel healthy and strong, and that helps everything fall into place. It makes me feel good, and it’s also a stress reliever, so I have no choice."
- Balance and Moderation: "I generally eat healthy but I love to snack on potato chips. I love a hamburger and French fries once in a while. I’m not so much a sugar person, but I do like chocolate sometimes. You have to have a good balance. You can’t be too strict and you can’t just eat whatever you want, especially as you get older. You really need to watch what you are taking in because it’s easier to put on the pounds the older you get. But if I eat too much one day, I’ll eat less the next day, or have more green drinks or try to put more vegetables in my diet."
- The Importance of Exercise: "I love working out with Dom [Zoida, her beau]. I recommend it because it’s a great way to spend time together. We go on long bike bikes. We trained together for triathalons."
The Impact on Her Career
Kimberlin's health transformation has positively impacted her career. As her health and confidence improved, her character on The Bold and the Beautiful underwent a positive change as well. Executive producer Brad Bell praised her looks and encouraged her to maintain her vibrant appearance.
A "New Sex Symbol"

Kimberlin's Tips for Success

- Do It for Yourself: "When it comes to keeping healthy, I do it for me. I do these things for me, because they make me happy. The better I feel about myself, I think it shows outwardly."
- Set Yourself Up for Success: "By that I mean, if you say, ‘I’m going to do 30 minutes on the treadmill six times a week,’ and you wind up doing it four times a week and you feel you fell short and say, ‘I’m a failure,’ don’t!"
- Tell Friends or Family: "Tell friends or family that you are embarking on a fitness program. It holds you accountable. You’ve said it in public."
- Change Your Mindset: "Don’t refer what you’re doing as a diet. Refer to it as living a healthier lifestyle. It’s not just about moving the number on the scale. It’s about ceasing to do things that are not enhancing the quality of your life or prolonging it."

Sheila's Return and Kimberlin's Initial Reaction
Interestingly, Kimberlin's weight loss journey coincided with a dramatic turn of events in her character's storyline. It was revealed that Sheila Carter was alive, despite being presumed dead. Kimberlin initially believed Sheila was gone for good and had even made plans to move to Montana. "I truly thought I was gone. I gave the interviews knowing that I was gone and I was looking forward to the next chapter in my life and what might come out of it acting wise or otherwise," Kimberlin said. "I even bought property in Montana. I’m expecting a grandchild in June. My son lives there and I’m building a home in Montana so I can be closer to my grandchild. I was looking to close down my home in Los Angeles that I rent for work. And thank God I got the call from Brad the week before I was moving out of my house in L.A. I truly thought this was a done deal." She continued, “Sheila is my happy place. I am one of those people that when I go to work, I go to work because I absolutely love what I’m doing every single day."
Receiving the news of Sheila's return was initially a "hard pill" for Kimberlin to swallow. "It had been years of playing Sheila, and I consider her my baby, so to speak. And that was definitely not news I was anticipating or hoping to receive," she said. She described the experience as a "roller coaster."
