Ingrid Rinck, a successful entrepreneur and the CEO of Sensible Meals, has dedicated herself to helping people achieve healthier lifestyles and weight loss goals since 2014. Her journey is not just about business; it's deeply rooted in personal experience and a genuine passion for empowering others. This article explores Ingrid Rinck's weight loss tips, her inspiring story, and the principles behind her approach to health and fitness.
From Personal Training to Sensible Meals
Ingrid Rinck's passion for fitness ignited at the young age of fifteen. Within a year of joining a fitness class, she found herself teaching the same class, marking the beginning of her career in physical health. Over 20 years as a personal trainer, Ingrid built a foundation of knowledge and experience.
Her path took a significant turn when her 8-year-old son, Rock, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. This diagnosis became a catalyst for change, leading Ingrid to immerse herself in nutrition and the power of food to enhance health. She began preparing meals for her son, meticulously focusing on nutrition and learning everything she could about enhancing health through food. As she altered her family’s diet, she experienced weight loss herself.
The Birth of Sensible Meals
Witnessing Ingrid’s success with portion-controlled meals created for her son, friends and clients requested she replicate the meals for them. Ingrid, a single mother with two young children and a baby, was running a personal training business at the time. She juggled 15- to 18-hour workdays, prepping meals while managing the surge of orders.
Sensible Meals gained momentum rapidly, exceeding her initial expectations. Seeking guidance from her father, a former restaurant owner, she heeded his advice and established a prep facility. This decision fueled further growth and success for her business.

Ingrid Rinck's Philosophy on Weight Loss
Ingrid Rinck is a firm believer that weight loss and physical fitness are attainable for everyone. She emphasizes the importance of consistency and enjoyment in the process. “It’s about doing it right most of the time and having fun some of the time,” she says. Sensible Meals provides clients with basic diet meals and incorporates Louisiana cooking cheat meals to prevent feelings of deprivation and frustration. The company strives to make healthy eating affordable and offers live assistance for 12 hours a day, including monthly live chats on social media with Ingrid herself.
The company’s packaged meals are freshly prepared and free of preservatives. Through Sensible Meals, Rinck has created more than 1,200 jobs in the workforce with 98 percent of the employees being women. An astounding 95 percent of them are mothers, with 75 percent of those employees being single moms. “I was once a single mom on a limited income and I understand what it means to have support when you need it,” said Rinck. “People working for me believe in this business as much as I do. It’s important and I know they want to help me take care of my business, so I trust them.”
Today, she finds innovative ways to help struggling families, whether it be through nonprofit organizations like the Red Cross, American Heart Association, Type 1 diabetes or other charitable organizations. Sensible Meals raised over a half a million dollars in donations in 2017 to benefit local families and Type 1 diabetes. “Average donations were anywhere between $1,500 to $15,000. For example, we may help a single mom pay for her first year of college or give a mother the funds to help pay for medical supplies that her child needs.” Rinck said. “I like to see where the money is going. The thing that is different about us is people don’t know how charitable we are.”
Overcoming Personal Challenges
Ingrid Rinck's journey wasn't without its challenges. During her third pregnancy, she faced personal struggles and turned to food for comfort, leading to a weight gain of 100 pounds. After giving birth, she committed to finding a sustainable approach to weight loss.
Her strategy involved avoiding the deprivation of any food group and eating until satisfied, not stuffed. “I ate three meals a day with small portions,” she explains. “They consisted of mostly lean protein, carbs, healthy fats, and vegetables. And I changed my view of food - from looking at it as a source of pleasure to seeing it as a source of fuel for my body."
