Embarking on a weight loss journey is a deeply personal experience, unique to each individual. This is my story of how I lost 100 pounds from my childhood until sometime last year. It encompasses the diet, the exercise, and the plan that I found to be not only effective for losing weight but also for maintaining the loss, improving fitness, achieving a healthier shape, and ultimately, cultivating greater happiness. This outlines what I did to retrain myself from going to someone that thought was trying hard enough to trying even harder and doing bigger and better things than I could have ever imagined doing.
I hope this story and plan connect with you, but I also know that everyone is different, this might not be your approach to health or weight loss and thats ok. This is what worked for me.
The Turning Point: Retraining My Mindset
The journey began with a fundamental shift in mindset. I had to retrain myself, transitioning from a place where I thought I was trying hard enough to a state of pushing myself even harder, achieving things I never thought possible. This involved challenging my limitations and embracing the possibility of significant change.
The Weight Loss Plan: A Holistic Approach
My weight loss plan wasn't just about shedding pounds; it was about adopting a holistic approach to health and well-being. This involved changes to my diet, incorporating regular exercise, and developing a sustainable plan that I could adhere to long-term.
Diet: Fueling My Body Right
I focused on making conscious food choices that nourished my body and supported my weight loss goals. This involved understanding portion control, prioritizing whole foods, and limiting processed foods, sugary drinks, and unhealthy fats.

Exercise: Moving My Body Consistently
Regular physical activity was a crucial component of my weight loss journey. I found activities that I enjoyed and that fit into my lifestyle, ensuring consistency and sustainability. This could include anything from brisk walking and jogging to swimming, cycling, or dancing.
The Plan: Setting Realistic Goals and Tracking Progress
I set realistic goals for myself and tracked my progress along the way. This helped me stay motivated and accountable, allowing me to make adjustments to my plan as needed. Celebrating small victories kept me encouraged and reinforced positive habits.
Maintaining the Weight Loss: A Lifestyle Change
Losing weight was just the first step; maintaining the loss required a long-term commitment to a healthy lifestyle. This involved continuing to prioritize healthy eating, staying active, and maintaining a positive mindset.
The Importance of Self-Compassion
Throughout my weight loss journey, I learned the importance of self-compassion. There were times when I slipped up or didn't meet my goals, but I didn't let these setbacks derail me. Instead, I practiced self-forgiveness and used these experiences as opportunities to learn and grow.
The Ripple Effect: A Happier, Healthier Life
Losing 100 pounds has had a profound impact on my life. I'm not only physically healthier, but I'm also happier, more confident, and more energetic. This journey has taught me the power of perseverance, self-discipline, and the importance of prioritizing my well-being.
