Versatile Baking Options
You can make this recipe as a cake or in a bread pan for a more loaf-like texture.
Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need to create this delightful treat:
- Dry Ingredients: (Combine in a large mixing bowl the dry ingredients. Blend and mix. Set aside.)
- Wet Ingredients: (In a large 4-cup measuring cup, whisk together the wet ingredients.)
- Optional: Walnuts (Blend in the walnuts (optional).)
- Chocolate Ganache Splatter: 1/3 cup Coconut Milk, 1/2 cup HU Chocolate Chips, 1/2 tsp.
Baking Instructions
- Preparation: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Mixing: Combine the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and blend well. The batter should be the consistency of a thick milkshake that pours easily. If you need to add a 'tad' bit more coconut milk to achieve this consistency, then please do so.
- Pan and Bake: Pour into a well-greased springform pan (about 10" diameter) with the bottom lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated 350 oven for 29-32 minutes. Do the toothpick test in the center. If it comes out basically clean, all good.
- Cooling: Remove to a cooling rack. Dislodge when cool.
- Finishing Touches: Splatter with chocolate ganache. Zest with fresh orange, Sprinkle on a few sea salt flakes.
Crafting the Chocolate Ganache Splatter
- Melting: Combine the coconut milk and chocolate chips in a small saucepan over medium low heat. Let it start warming. You'll see the chocolate chips beginning to melt.
- Blending: Use a whisk to blend together making a thick chocolatEEEE mixture. If too thick, add a tad bit more coconut milk.
- Final Touch: Finish with adding the butter.
Paleo Marshmallows (Optional)
Dessi has been making homemade paleo marshmallows on stories recently, so i wanted to share the recipe. Dessi used 100% grass-fed gelatin powder for this recipe. Start off by blooming the gelatin with water in the bowl of a stand mixer. Meanwhile, heat the maple syrup, honey and water until it reaches 240F. Add the hot syrup mixture to the geltain with the mixer on low then kick it up to high for 5 minutes. At the point you made marshmallow fluff, which is great for rice krispies. Cut marshmallows and enjoy!
