Hiking up was definitely strenuous, but coming down was a challenge in itself. There were times I wanted to quit and turn back, but I wouldn’t allow myself to take not even a step backwards. I stayed focused on the task ahead,” she continued, adding that she was “determined” to finish what she had started. “What kept me going was the feeling I knew I’d have at the top of the mountain. When I finally got there, I cried. Tears of pure joy and gratitude! I wasn’t aware how much I needed to disconnect from the world, and connect with nature, and my higher self. During my meditation and prayer time up there, I let go of EVERYTHING I had been emotionally carrying for the past few weeks! Sitting there reminded me of how much natural beauty we are surrounded with but ignore because of the daily hustle and bustle.
