Brittany Picolo-Ramos, a New Orleans native and real estate agent, stars in HGTV's "Selling the Big Easy." The show follows her as she guides clients through the city's high-end homes, staging properties with "snazzy and colorful pieces" to maximize their selling price. While the series showcases her professional life, it offers limited glimpses into her personal life.
A Decade-Long Partnership: Brittany and Marco Ramos
Brittany Picolo-Ramos has been married to Marco Ramos for over 15 years. Marco owns Godwyn & Stone Real Estate, the company where Brittany works. They met a month before Hurricane Katrina in July 2005. At the time she was 20 and he was 19 years old. According to Reality Titbit, they instantly fell in love and got engaged after three months. A year later, they officially tied the knot.
They bonded over their mutual love of real estate. After starting her career in real estate in 2013, Brittany started her own team in 2015, aptly named the Picolo-Ramos Team. While Marco had never worked in real estate, he decided to join her. Fortunately, he quickly caught on, and they became a real estate power duo. Marco founded Godwyn & Stone Real Estate and Brittany tagged along. She currently leads its team of agents, as seen on Selling the Big Easy.
Despite working in the same industry, Brittany emphasizes their differences: "We are the embodiment of the saying 'Opposites Attract,' but even with how different we are, our differences make us stronger, more motivated, and an unstoppable force," she wrote on Instagram.
Daughters Sophiana and Ruby: Expanding the Family
Brittany and Marco are now proud parents to two beautiful daughters! Their eldest daughter, Sophiana, makes frequent appearances on Brittany's Instagram. On National Daughter's Day, Brittany shared a loving picture with Sophiana: "Celebrating National Daughters Day! I'll take any and every opportunity to shout from the rooftops how much I love this girl," she wrote.

In November 2021, Brittany had her second daughter, Ruby Noelle. She had previously announced the pregnancy and discussed her infertility journey with her Instagram followers.
"After six years of trying and two miscarriages, we honestly had lost all hope and stopped trying to get pregnant. Marco said there was no way I was pregnant because we had tried and failed for so long that he felt it was impossible, but for me, I was taking the test purely to prove that I wasn’t crazy and being dramatic, but honestly was not expecting a positive test," she wrote.
Ruby was born on Nov. 11, 2021, and Brittany composed an emotional post alongside photos of her newborn. "We welcomed our second daughter into the world yesterday, and we are over the moon! Thank you all for praying for us! We are totally in love and enjoying every minute!" Congratulations to the happy family! Fans look forward to watching Ruby and Sophiana grow up.

Managing the Financial Aspects of Cancer Treatment
Coordinating life-saving healthcare and organizing medical documents certainly feels like enough to keep track of when dealing with health issues. Cancer treatment and care can often cost a lot, even for those with robust insurance plans. Many times, expert treatment may require you to temporarily relocate. The costs of specialized care and relocation can quickly add up. Moreover, missing work could add to your financial burden. Review all your options to keep your job during the cancer journey. The person with cancer may qualify for protection and assistance under the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). You both may qualify for assistance under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Contact the American Cancer Society or other organizations that provide assistance to cancer patients and their caregivers to see if you qualify for financial assistance or free or low-cost services that would help offset more costly alternatives. You may also qualify for assistance through government programs; ask a social worker for guidance. You may find a social worker associated with your cancer care facility, or you can ask for recommendations from your care team. Are you worried about your finances? You’re not alone. Luckily, there are insurance and financial assistance options available. Your loved one may have stress about the potential cost of medical care.

To qualify for Medicare, the beneficiary (or partner) must have paid into Social Security for 10 years or more. Then, upon reaching the age of 65, the beneficiary may automatically receive this type of insurance. If your loved one is in their mid-60s, look for this option. Sometimes, your loved one can use other ways to enroll in Medicare.
Medicaid is primarily for patients with low incomes or disabilities. Even if your loved one has insurance, costs associated with treatment will appear. First, there will be direct financial costs. There may also be indirect financial costs, which will include expenses essential to obtaining treatment, such as transportation costs to and from appointments or temporary lodging costs if treatment at a far-away location is selected.
All sorts of grants exist that can cover various common costs that follow a cancer patient and their loved ones. For instance, maybe you must visit a medical facility at a distant location where you will require lodging. Perhaps your loved one cannot afford the insurance deductibles. Some cancer organizations will offer financial assistance for indirect costs, including travel, lodging and living expenses.
Though many people feel ashamed to ask friends, family, neighbors or members of their house of worship for financial assistance, it can sometimes make a difference. Many people want to do something to help, and donating a little money to a friend to help offset the costs of a fight with cancer makes them feel good.
Cancer treatment is expensive, but you can manage the cost of care in several ways. Patients may be eligible for Medicaid or high-risk pools, and there are also programs that can help with prescription drug costs. Additionally, cancer organizations like the American Cancer Society and CancerCare offer financial assistance for indirect expenses related to cancer treatment. Finally, individuals and local organizations may also be willing to provide financial assistance. Asking for help can be difficult, but there are many resources available to cancer patients and their loved ones. Check out our hand-picked resources!
