Aaron Goodwin, a familiar face from the paranormal investigation series "Ghost Adventures," has undergone a noticeable physical transformation over the years. Beyond his experiences with the supernatural, Goodwin's weight loss journey has been a topic of interest for fans. This article explores Goodwin's weight loss, his methods, and the personal challenges he has faced while filming the show.
Goodwin's Transformation
"Over the years of filming, you’ve seen me lose a lot of weight," Aaron says in a Travel Channel video. He openly acknowledged his transformation, noting how different he looked in earlier episodes. "Looking back, sometimes I think it’s just a whole different person. It’s tough to watch myself back then because I’m like, 'Whoa. That’s not me.'" Goodwin's physical change has been significant, and he frequently showcases his fitness, especially during intense lockdowns that sometimes require him to remove his shirt.
When "Ghost Adventures" first aired, Goodwin weighed approximately 254 pounds. By 2012, he had successfully reduced his weight to 197 pounds.
The Cause of the Weight Gain
Before his commitment to a healthier lifestyle, Goodwin's weight gain was linked to his work habits while editing two NASCAR reality shows at home. "Now when I was home it was junk food and mochas all day to keep me awake as I sat there for 15 hours a day for two-and-a-half months," he shared in a blog post. The combination of long hours and unhealthy food choices contributed to his initial weight gain.
Goodwin's Weight Loss Strategies
Goodwin attributes his weight loss to dietary changes. He emphasizes the importance of making informed food choices and moderation. His advice includes:

- Eat Right: Focus on consuming nutritious foods.
- Know What You’re Eating: Be aware of the ingredients and nutritional content of your meals.
- Moderate Sugar Intake: Enjoy desserts occasionally, rather than daily.
Goodwin also prefers quality ingredients. "I like a burger that’s put together by hand," Aaron says. "Organic or grass-fed beef and it’s not frozen."
He is a strong proponent of reading food labels. "If it has a [large paragraph] full of ingredients and you don’t know what it says, don’t eat it," he advises. He prefers simple, less processed foods, such as cashews and simple breads. "I stick to cashews, I stick to bread, I stick to something simple and easy that’s just not full of crap and preservatives."
Despite his focus on healthy eating, Goodwin admits he loves coffee. "I love coffee, and coffee for me keeps me energetic and keeps me out moving and walking around and being more active," he admits.
Personal Struggles
In addition to his weight loss journey, Goodwin has faced personal challenges that have been intertwined with his work on "Ghost Adventures." On Wednesday, Oct. 22, Goodwin confirmed in an Instagram post that he would not be watching the newest episode of “Ghost Adventures." The episode included the moment he learned his wife had been arrested for plotting to have him killed.
“This next episode of #ghostadventures is when I got the FaceTime call from the cops,“ Goodwin wrote. ”They were in my house & told me what she did & she was arrested. “…I don’t want to relive that night again & what happened before the call.”

Victoria Goodwin, 32, was arrested in March in Clark County, Nevada, on charges of solicitation to commit murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Investigators said she communicated with Florida inmate Grant Amato about hiring someone to kill Goodwin while he was filming the show.
Victoria pleaded guilty in April to conspiracy to commit murder and was sentenced in June to 36-90 months in prison. During her sentencing, she apologized to Goodwin, saying she was “immensely sorry” for the pain and betrayal. Goodwin filed for divorce days after her arrest.
In a separate Instagram post, Goodwin thanked the media for reaching out but admitted he’s not ready to speak publicly. “I could tell you guys I’m doing ok but I would rather be honest,” he wrote. “Just know I’m not doing good at all & everyday is worse with all I’m learning all the time. They say in time everything gets better but I just want the divorce to be over so I can move on with my life.”
The episode titled “Hollydale Asylum of Hell,” featured Zak Bagans and the crew investigating the abandoned Hollydale Mental Hospital in Downey, California. During the lockdown, the investigation takes a shocking real-life turn with the FaceTime call from Las Vegas police informing him that his wife has been arrested for plotting to have him killed.
"Ghost Adventures" Career
Goodwin joined "Ghost Adventures" in 2008, having previously worked as a cameraman for the Ultimate Fighting Championship and various film projects in Las Vegas. He has been a consistent presence on the show, often acting as "bait" to provoke paranormal activity during investigations.
